- Impressions are not visits or customers.
- Read queries with their landing page, country and device.
- Make a focused change and measure the same scope again.
Identify the searcher’s job
Low clicks can reflect intent, position or an unclear title. Adding articles without knowing which query leads to which page makes diagnosis harder.
Separate local website-provider comparisons from branded searches and vulnerability questions. They need different answers and destinations.
Keep the comparison scope consistent
Review queries and landing pages together, then split country, device and locale where the data supports it. Do not apply the same expectation to an English global article and a Vietnamese local service page.
CTR divides clicks by impressions within the selected scope. Small samples fluctuate, and average position is not a fixed rank. Save filters with the baseline.
Match the title to the actual answer
Google recommends descriptive titles and can generate title links from multiple page elements. Snippets can also come from page content rather than the supplied meta description.
A provider comparison needs criteria and dated evidence. A cost guide needs scope and exclusions. Avoid unsupported superlatives.
Test the next useful step
Link a security guide to a relevant tool or assessment and a website brief to the appropriate enquiry path. Check the actual destination on desktop and mobile in both languages.
A working conversion path matters even when a page earns clicks. Repairing that path is not a guarantee of higher rankings.
Measure a specific hypothesis
Friday Works recommends recording the issue, intervention and application date. Compare a meaningful later window with the same filters while noting seasonality.
Check qualified enquiries as well as clicks. If results do not change, revisit the hypothesis. New articles should fill a demonstrated question gap rather than duplicate an existing answer.
